Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is a British-American musician and sitarist. She was among the youngest and first female to win a British House of Commons Shield she's had nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar artist. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born 1982 in London. Her childhood years were split between London as well as New Delhi. When she was only 13 the first time she performed at New Delhi took place. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Her career as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her youth. She often joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for several years. Her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. As she's appeared on all the major stages in the world, her stage career is extensive.
